Sidoti & Company, LLC
Semi-Annual Micro-Cap Conference
January 13, 2014 at The Grand Hyatt Hotel New York

Sidoti & Company, LLC is pleased to invite you to our Semi-Annual Micro-Cap Conference on Monday, January 13, 2014.  Midtown Manhattan’s Grand Hyatt Hotel will again be the venue.  The event  -- our eighth -- will be one of the largest gatherings ever held of institutional money managers and management teams focused on the sub-200 million market cap sector.  At least 70 companies will tell their stories, having met Sidoti’s criteria of presenting only companies that have sound fundamentals and intriguing stories, show fast growth and profitability, or otherwise hold great promise, yet are largely unknown to the investment community.
If positive feedback is any indication, attendees and presenters alike find Sidoti’s conferences to be well-organized and value-added.  The firm’s ability to leverage its experience in the small-cap arena means that few others can match its reputation for consistency and quality. For more information about the conference please visit microcap.sidoti.com.
January 13’s power-packed event will again show the fruits of our coordinated and diligent effort to create the Street’s first complete research product for micro-cap names.  We began covering this neglected segment four years ago, with five micro-cap analysts.  The team was the only one of its kind, but Sidoti maintained that many micro-cap companies have solid fundamentals and/or unique growth catalysts, and had faith it could persuade investors the group contains superior investment opportunities.  Now 20 Sidoti analysts cover more than 200 micro-cap names.  That total is likely to exceed 400 by the end of 2014.
The conference will begin with breakfast and registration at 7 a.m. and conclude late in the afternoon.  Luncheon will be provided.  For an idea of the quality listening you will enjoy, please follow the link below, which offers a sample of our presenters.

For your information, the Grand Hyatt New York is located at Park Avenue at Grand Central Station in New York City, about 8 miles from LaGuardia Airport and 12 miles from JFK International.  Travel time depends on the time of the day and weather conditions.  Please plan accordingly.  For your convenience, we have reserved a block of rooms at the hotel.

RAY KELLY NYPD IS POWERLESS AGAINST MOTORCYCLE DRIVERS

* THE NYPD AFRAID OF PURSUING MOTOR BIKERS
* MOTORBIKES POLICE CHASE COULD LEAD TO LAWSUITS SAYS POLICE CHIEF INSPECTOR
New York City
A motor biker gang has beaten up an Asian driver who has a struck one of their own and left the scene because he feared for his and family safety. No wonder, even the New York Police Department guys under the command of Ray Kelly can watch and not do anything because they are afraid of pursuing motor bikers. Yes, those unruly barbarians. Big guys with tattoos and large beards, aggressively clothed with a mean look with nasty eyes. No wonder, we are seeing more and more of them on the roads of the City of New York. " Driving in this city is crazy. Not only you have to deal with aggressive taxi drivers and unyielding pedestrians but you also have motorcycles zooming at supersonic speeds." says a resident in the Astoria section of Queens. The NYPD of the 114th Precinct of Cirabisi and company are good only at catching gullible guys with no seat belts ( an easy win win ticket for the men in blue uniform). Stephen Cirabisi, the top guy at the 114th Precinct in Astoria says a pursuit of the motor biker could lead to injury, damage and possibly a costly lawsuit to the NYPD. But, with the help of residents who can identify these wild unruly beasts of the road, he can have his men get to them in a trap at their living locations, thus causing no damages and no lawsuits against the NYPD and the city.

THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN

Astoria, New York
The government shuts down after Obama Care was turned by the Republicans. Some services will not be affected. They will include active military personnel, TSA and traffic control agents as well as Social Security and Medicare Services. The shutdown could cost taxpayers about 1 billion per week and experts say it could shave 1/3 percent of GDP for the 4th quarter of 2013.

THE REAL ECONOMIST SEES DANGERS AHEAD FOR THE DOW

New York City,
With a strong market up to August, the Dow has managed to get deep into 15000 plus area. But yesterday, the support level at 15000 has collapsed and now the Dow finds itself in a free fall scenario that could push it at least 10 percent lower by mid October (13500 area ). With the possibility of Fed tightening finally becoming more real, interest rates could move much higher and strengthening of the dollar also against the euro could take effect. " This is something that I have been looking at as we see lofty valuations for many of the Dow components. With a strong summer, I don't expect the fall to be kind. Also, adverse international events could always trigger adverse events for the multinationals. Even though there are dangers for the blue chips, I still see opportunities for a selection of smaller caps. THE REAL ECONOMIST SALUTES GOLDFIELD AND ITS TURNAROUND

The Goldfield Corporation ( AMEX : GV) has become the wonder stock of the American Stock Exchange. It traded near at about a quarter ( 25 cents ) for Santa on Christmas week just 6 1/2 months ago. Now it has rewarded those investors with 10 bags as it broke $ 2.50 on Friday putting at risk its 2 decade high of $ 2.80, just another bag away. The question for investors is how many more bags can GV handle in this upsurge that began earlier this year. With analyists and institutions taking aim at it lately and the company coming out with mighty earnings reports, GV could easily be the best stock of the Amex and beyond for calendar year 2012. Goldfield is a electrical construction and real estate development company in the South East with a presence in many states. Founded in 1906, it is the oldest company on the American Stock Exchange. For additional info, please review available sources. The RealEconomist blogspot monitors penny stock and affirms the necessity of markets for a strong economy.

MANY AMERICANS LIKE TO PAY MORE FOR NUMBER ONE

Astoria, New York
" Let me pay more because the product is better, I feel better, the company is better, the salesman is better. " are the comments of many American consumers in the Queens area. Companies that deliver innovation, advertising, superior product image are winning the show as they hook up consumers who become addicted to paying more causing higher profit margins for star companies like Apple and McDonald's  " I always say that profit margins are the key to success and these above mentioned companies are able to do better than their rivals and many american consumers are following the trail in supporting them. Apple's computers might offer better value at a higher price but my HP is sufficient in doing the job for me at a lower price. Apple 's stock has been the spark to the Nasdaq's gain in the last few months as the company continues to grow fast in every way from revenues to earnings to quantity of products sold. For McDonald's I repeat better value as I believe Wendy's is offering better quality and value at a lower price. And while Wendy's ( of which I nibbled at it lately)  has been capturing market share by taking second place from Burger King in the hamburger business, its much lower profit margin keeps it from gaining success in the financial markets. Both Apple and McDonald's are considered number one and many Americans feel that the right way to go is to go with the flow. I, on the other hand, am a contrarian and I feel that price without sacrificing quality is the right way to go.

WAR AGAINST PARTHIA SIMILAR TO US WAR AGAINST MID EAST NATIONS

Astoria, New York
If Rome went to was against Parthia, it was because it was attacked. In 161 AD, the roman province of Syria was attacked by the Parthians seeking to expand their decadent empire. Rome had enjoyed a Pax Romana under some of its good emperors. Now, it had to go back to war as the co emperors Varus and Marcus Aurelius needed to stop the threat. It took just about 4 years to invade and conquer the parthian capital. Back then, the Romans didn't have what America has today. Jets, tanks, missiles and all the costly 9 yards of technology. But in both circumstances, these war have depleted the treasuries and financial system. Emperor Marcus Aurelius auctioned his own private imperial belongings in a sign of sacrifice. He also looked at raising money by increasing taxes. In America, cutting expenses and raising taxes have been the agenda for the last few years.
Back in roman times, spoils of war and taxing the new conquered provinces would help boost the finances. Today, the fight against terror and dictators, democracy and hope for future business contracts are the norm. In both instances the population makes the sacrifice and in both instances the politicians would like to bring conflicts to a faster end if plausible. In both instances there are people just like Marcus Aurelius who know the finances are in trouble way before it takes its toll and others who keep being careless in their spending. Please visit YouTube.com and watch videos on the Roman Empire.
